The days go fast but the years go so slow

Well guys i cant believe where we all really are. When i was flying across the ocean to frankfurt i reallized that at that moment we were not only in different places but in different elements, camila on the earth, tone on the sea, and i was above the clouds (which you seriously would not believe, it was its own terrain). Anyway i dont really know how to start this whole blog thing off but lets just take a sec to realize just how young we are compared with how we are living now and how our lives has been so far. Its the gypsy in us, the wonderlust tickling our feet. I was just thinking of how we always used to play games of going on "journeys" to magical places and meeting magical people like wizards and warriors. Well, that fire is still lit in us and we're all living those pretend games with the reality that we were given. Maybe we have not met centaurs or have to battle alien ships (hah or do we?) but we could write a excyclopedia sized book and it would seem just as bizarre.....anywayyyysss....
i love you both.
p.s. get the copy of one hundred years of solitude as soon as you might be able to its fantastic.
p.p.s. i think maybe we should each have our own text color and font so that it will be easier do identify whos who since were all probably using camilas thing
anyway good journ be yourns..ciao :)

  1. Yes yes, how we we reel off in the wind like seeds from a dandelion, all blown by somoneones wishe, though where we land we root not, to many other things to see, to do. the caribbean has been very interesting. lots of liming, hanging out talking just to talk, like in santa fe, with plenty of ganja and beer too. thats all the locals have to do on an island. enjoy each others company. and supllementing this has been olenty of hsip work and sailing. siling at night is the best. with the moon or the stars out and the waves and wind blowing againgst the ship. on our last four day voayge here from dominica a boobie bird landed on the ships mast. and dolphins swam and the bow. anna, the day you departed for italy i went on a excursion in st. lucia with dario, the italian writer on the ship, (who has a condition where he is slowly going deaf and blind, like borges) so its always interesting have to watch out a bit for him, but he helps me with money too..anyway we went on this reat hike up to the volcano on the island, walking aroudn the caldera, then we had lunch by the sulphur springs. it was great, hes the best to talk to. he worked in milan as an interior designer before coming to the ship. he is sitting next to me now. st. lucia was beautiful. we hung out in the ghettos with rasta's and drug smugglers and little kids danceing in the streets. also wheni was was walking with gilson, the brazilian horseman, he fucked with a poisonous plant and we had to rush to the sulpher springs to wash off the burning poison from our arms and necks. it was quite exhilierating. now we're in jost van dyke. it kinda sucks. im ready for puerto rico and some loco latino vibes!

  2. hehe yes we are all someones wish like we are all a part of someones galaxy funny eh?
The caribbean sounds amazing, like the most extreme laid back version of santa fe thats awesome. ahh ganga and beer of course, i wouldnt expect anything less of those carribeans. i'm am just absurdly jealous that you saw a blue footed boobie. i cant even express it. you should write a story with the italian writer, or maybe he can write a poem or something in italian that you can send. is he like the equivalent of borges but italian? It soudns like he's the type of person that just gets it. it sounds like you are experiencing the earth and what it naturally holds in the most incredible way.Its perfect.

I'm experiencing the opposite of what you are, and it has made me realize how much i miss talking just to talk and only having human company, here i am grateful that i dont have to rely only on that because of the language, but i do miss it because i have noticed many things when life, or people are not like that. there is such a difference between city life, and country life. because there is always stuff to do, you always talk about the future or past and people hardly ever seem to get down to whats present, or whats beneath the ground. or at least i havent experienced that yet, i havent been here long enough, but maybe just maybe.

but i have experienced some other pretty ridiculous thing, for instance, on monday i went to the drop kick murphys concert with two of my friends and moshed for the first time in my life without meaning to and i also danced on stage with the dropkick murphys which was just absurd theres actually a video of it on youtube. hah! and i've also missed my busstop to school and trying to stir up my non existent sense of direction i ended up wandering around milano for 30 minutes until i finally was able to at least find nonnas house, so i just ended up having coffee with her and went to school later.
There is also this other italian family that we always spend time with, alberto (the dad), Luca(the older brother camilas age), and francesco(the one whos my age) who i usually hang out with. but oh jesus, luca is the most ridiculously hilarious italian ever. because he talks kinda like borat for example "Anna! do not go to church with patsy! she-a wantsa to make sex with tom cruise for-a scientology". hah, patsy is my mum here by the way.

Anyway i think i've learned a lot about people here though just by observing, because when you dont understand everyword that people say you learn to pick up small actions or expressions people make.

when you go to puerto rico, whether you like it or not your gonna learn to dance, and when you go to cuba also, moreso, their gonna call out the loco latino in YOU. you'll probablly start speaking in spanish in no time, or at least the important stuff of spanish.
(speaking of cuba though, my caribean dance teacher is this hardcore cuban dude who is all muscles but is this incredible dancer i've never seen anything like it its awesome and hilarious at the same time)

There really is a difference between the the northern and southern hemisphere.

i'm missin the south but i'm livin it up here in the north!

  3. Nod-

I'm with the little one here. I can't believe you saw a blue footed boobie!!! That's so exciting. Your journey sounds like a novel, but isn't it interesting how more often than not life is even more ridiculous and fascinating than any novel that could be written. Dario sounds like a lovely man, any Borges character in real life (any 'character' in general) makes life that much better... conversation becomes riveting, stories develop, and you know, as Anna says that they usually 'get it'. How old is Dario? Isn't it interesting how the world is spiderwebbed together. The fact that he's from Milan where Anna now wanders the streets.

I wish I could experience what you're experiencing. Any place where people dance in the streets beckons me. Do you both remember the dancing gypsy girl in Rome who danced to her brother's music? She was beautiful. That's us in an alternate universe. One of these days nonni, I'm going to go busking with you on the plaza, or anywhere else we can sit and play. Maybe we can even get the whole cousin entourage to join us. Mikayla and Franny on ukeleles, you and cario on guitars, etc. etc. Did we tell you about how all of us jammed on the train from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. We sang Redemption Song which always reminds me of you and one of the women sitting nearby sang with us.

The Caribbean sounds like a place for people of our variety, if liming, talking, and making merry... and of course dancing is prevalent then I'll have to go sometime.

Give us a report from Puerto Rico, the land of Sonia Rosario. To be perfectly honest, if I have enough money, I'm considering going down there in april to see you if that's at all possible. That could be sweet.

    Blynken-

I agree with you, it is strange being in a place where you don't talk just to talk- rambling on and on about everything. I miss that. Here in Hartford I had a great conversation with a woman working at the Dunkin' Donuts. I miss hanging out with Elizabeth and just talking about past lives, ghosts, God, world issues, and silly things that happen allowing my ridiculous thoughts to reveal themselves to others. I guess maybe it is the country vs. city life. In the city people have ways to occupy themselves whereas in the country and in small towns, or places you don't have money to spend on entertainment, you have to find ways to entertain yourself... so we rely on stories, on chillin', on those extended hours of contemplation and imagination that spills into our activities and words. How else could we have dreamed up the Danish lesbian polygamous marriage that was supposed to save us all from the US-Iraq war?

That's neat that you got to go to a concert, Josh Ritter must be next one. I'm going to try and see him again in May. We'll see if that pans out.

Haha- you missed your bus... to be honest, I'm happy that you did. Getting lost is the best way to discover a place. Thank goodness you found Nonna's house. I want to meet her, I'm glad she's taking care of you. That reminds me of my senior year how I would drive over to great grandma's for my lunch break to eat and visit. good times.

Okay, you also had my cracking up at Borat/Luca boy. Jejeje- I'm still laughing.

and... how is Caribbean Dance... that sounds like a shit ton of fun:P

Keep on living it up in the North Blynken.

    Love ya,
